Now, I am not one to post a bunch a Bible stuff or push my beliefs upon anyone. I feel that how someone worships and what they believe is an individual preference, and who am I to judge. BUT, today's Gospel reading was so powerful to me today, and could not have come at a better time in our lives. And THIS one reading will not come around in the liturgy for 94 more years in the cycle of readings. I mean, really, with all that we are dealing with and up against, this could not have been more fitting as assurance that everything will work itself out as long as we put our worries in the good Lord's hands....
Matthew 6:24-34 (New International Version, ©2010)
24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
WOW. So, yeah....

SNACKS!
Before I forget. This is total blog-worthy. So, we were at church last Sunday (yes, I needed to have posted sooner). Bennett and McKinley go to Children's Chapel while Bill, Berkeley and I are in big church. They come back to us as we pass the peace and prepare for communion. They are getting accustomed to our new church routines nicely and enjoying learning new things. Anyway, we are sitting and getting ready for communion, and as the ushers were bringing the "gifts" to the alter, Bennett gets all wide-eyed and excited, and says "Time for snacks!" Now, the boy loves his food. And snacks are his favorite. But, I thought this to be one of the funniest things he has said. Ahhhh.....out of the mouths of babes....
Until next time....:)

2011 District Champions!
Tonight was a bittersweet night for us with tears of happiness and excitement....mixed with a little sadness. Berkeley played her very last YCB basketball game in the District Championship game. The team the played, Huntsville, has been undefeated every year of YCB since 4th grade. They are the only team we (Lady Hawks A-team) had been unable to conquer...until tonight. Up until tonight, this was "the game of the season", with it coming down to the wire, and usually going in to overtime. I am so proud of the athelete Berkeley is becoming and can not wait to see how she matures in Junior High and High School. Check out Berkeley's page for pictures from tonight's game. and the rest of the season....

Dear Snow...
Dear snow,
I do not like you. Please go away. I thought I could tolerate you and come to enjoy your presence. I was wrong. The longer you hang around the more I am finding myself in a not very happy mood. I am ready to reunite with my flip flops and the lake. The sooner you dissappear, then sooner I can get back to the things that do make me happy. If you could pack your things and get out, I would appreciate it greatly.
Sincerely, LA
They are saysing htat by the time this is all said and done, this will be the biggest snow storm of Arkansas history....already breaking city records, and its supposed to do this all day....

Growing up Southern..
I came across this little description of growing up southern, and it is pretty much right on. Had to share...
"Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born - it's an idea, a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, high school football, beer, country music, and acoustic guitars. It's being hospitable, being devoted to front porches, magnolias, the good Lord, and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way."

I took a quiz at Stylish Home, and this is what it says about my style....

A visual quiz to define & defend your style
You most resemble a "Unmade Bed".
Details...
A lake or ocean can't be far away and the sun is always shining. Your kitchen is your prize. Decorative, finished… elegant. A bedroom with distinct character - warm and charming. Music provides the backbeat to everything you do. Lake Cabin table for your salads and seafood. The glass of red - a highly recommended habit. Pre-war, upper east side attitude. Wild and crazy days in your wonderful home..
Suspected "Unmade Bed"
- Woody Allen
- Bob Dylan
- Tina Fey
Pretty dang close, if I don't say so myself.....
can you tell I am bored......
P.S. I hate snow.
