The Irony of it all...
OK, so we all know that Bill is a huge fan of LSU, and I do support the MSU BULLDOGS...well, someone has too.... Anyway, isn't it ironic that the big and almighty LSU Tigers sit down and LOSE their undefeated season to Kentucky...they pretty much hand the game to the Wildcats on a silver platter, and then...my Bulldogs run all over Kentucky just two weeks later on their home turf!!! Kinda makes you say hmmmm....Yes, the Tigers did beat the Bulldogs, BUT it sure was early in the season. It's just my opinion, but I thingk MSU has a fighting chance at being "good" for a change. I am still not counting on a Bowl Game just yet, but who knows...they ARE doing better than Arkansas for all that matters this year. This whole season is nuts, but it sure does make for some interesting conversations and SEC Saturdays...Gotta Love IT!!!!

ahhh...puppy love
Berkeley turned 9 today...YIKES!!! She is officially entering the pre-teen age. We had her birthday party last night (on top of sick babies). It was good, and she had a great time. She had about 11 friends over to the house and we roasted hotdogs and made smores over a small fire Bill built in the backyard. She also has a pinata...had to have it! She has a little boy who is "sweet on her" as his parents (and brother who is in my class) tell me, and he gave her a "diamond" necklace. I was SO not prepared for that! She says that they are not "BF/GF", they "broke up" last year....LOL. Poor kid was the only boy she invited...AND HE CAME! They sit together at lunch and hang out at school although they are not in the same class. In a way it is so cute...in other ways, not so much!

6 month well-baby check-up
We had our well-baby visit today, and got a good report. The doctor was very pleased with where they were developmentally for their age. Bennett was 16lbs 3oz and 26in long. McKinley was 17lbs 3oz and 24 3/4in long. He found that Bennett had a little separation of his rectus abdominal muscles, but said that would fix itself with time and not to be worried. He explained it as the same thing as a woman's rectus abdominal muscles do when they are pregnant and then go back together afterward. The only thing we questioned was their spitting-up after their bottles. He said that it could be one of two things...it could be partly caused by their sinus drainage that they have had for the past few weeks or that they are eating too much and not being burped enough. So, we are cutting back their formula to 6oz and trying to burp them more often. He said he doesn't expect reflux at this time. Nothing else exciting happened other than the usual vaccinations. Of course they were not very happy about that, but there was only two this time. Anyway, I guess that is it. I can not believe it has been 6 months already. I'll be planning birthday parties before I know it...YIKES!!!

My babies are 6 months!!!
Well, we are celebrating 6 months today!!! Can you believe it!!! It has gone by so super fast. They are getting so big. McKinley is rolling both ways and sliding on her belly backwards. She has not figured out, though, that she can turn herself a certain way and slide around to get her toys. Bennett is rolling around, but pretty much stays right in the middle of his toys on his belly or back. They are eating stage 2 foods, and loving it all!! I think I am gonna start making their food very soon and try and save some money. We will go next week for 6mo. shots...YUCK!!

In other news, we are preparing for Berkeley's upcoming 9th birthday. I can't believe I have a 9 year old! She will be finishing up mini-football tomorrow and in conjunction with the high school's homecoming, they will be having a "mini-homecoming" at their game tomorrow and have a homecoming princess and prince. It ought to be super cute! She is also finishing up her first season of fast-pitch softball. We will have 2 months off, then its on to basketball. It is never ending!

Anyway, I thought I would get an update out. I will post more after their doctor's appointment next week. Hope this finds everyone doing well.

Love, Lori Anne
