There had been numerous reports of an explosion or small earthquake in Benton County about 11 a.m. Thursday. Ok. So Centerton is about equal to the west of Bentonville as Pea Ridge is to the east. I am not positive, but I think I may have actually felt some of the shake. I had run to town on an errand on my prep hour, and was returning. I got stuck in some road work traffic and was at a stop in Sugar Creek Valley (just to the east of Bentonville). I was on a bridge, and the bridge began to vibrate a little. I didn't think anything of it at the time because the winds have been gusting over 30mph today, and traffic was moving from the other direction and a dump truck had just crossed. So......I am really not quite sure what I felt, but I do know that I felt movement of some sort. How cool would it be IF it were the earthquake? In a weird kinda way, of course. HAHA. I have been in tornadoes and hurricanes, but never earthquakes.....

What will be will be......
Looks like my summer may be getting a little more exciting. As you all know, Bill works in the construction industry. We moved up here right out of college almost 10 years ago. We were very young, and have created a wonderful life up here. Well, 10 years ago, the construction industry was booming up here, thanks ...to Wal-Mart and Tyson and JB Hunt, and the area was growing faster than any other region in the US (seriously, it was nuts). Granted the economy sucks right now, the construction industry has pretty much hit a standstill, and those companies that were growing and thriving are now struggling and expanding their horizons to not-so-local projects just to keep their doors open.
Bill is working for a very small family owned company right now, and is the only project manager, so he is very stable in his position, and as of right now, the company continues to profit and stay afloat. He is working for much less money than his experience and experitse are worth, but it has been a paycheck. We have decided that it was time to move foward. He needs to be in a more challenging environment, and have room to grow. I hope to go back to school when the twins go to Kindergarten, so we need to be at a place in our careers and finances where I can do so without jeopardizing our family. Where we are now, and where we had intended to be by now are very different places, and we are ready to try and make those things happen.
We decided to put our house on the market and try to get it sold and move back closer to home (if the opportunity arises). There is always the chance that he could find something local and us not move from the area, but the reality of the situation is that we are probably going to be heading south. We have decided to try for the Gulf Coast...there will always be construction where there are hurricanes :) It is very exciting to know we are getting closer to family, and back to our roots, but every time I think about it, I get knots in my stomach and emotions overwhelm me to the point of mental breakdown. It is so scary.
Anyway. My Spring Break was spent getting the house ready to put on the market and get sold. We sepnt last week trying to make sense of everything that we have accumulated in the past 10 years, and trying to get some kind of order to it all. We took the 4-wheelers home, and a load of stuff from our attic.
Our house showed on Saturday for the first time since putting it out on the market. The couple (buyers) have narrowed thier choices from over 15 to 2....ours and 1 other one here in Pea Ridge. Now, I am not going to get my hopes up, but how crazy would it be to sell it to the first lookers?!?!
So, on top of our trip in July, we may be moving across 3 states....LOL! Please say a prayer for us that things go smoothly and that everything works itself out....
I will keep everyone posted, but for, now....that's all I have!

Where Have These 3 Years Gone?
Well, my babies turned 3 today. (can I still really get away with calling them my babies?) Wow! What a wild and crazy whirlwind it has been. This has definitely been the craziest year yet. These kiddos have been through more ear infections than any one person should have, let alone two. They have had another set of tubes and their adenoids taken out as a result. They have successfully completed potty training. Their vocabulary is growing by the day, as are their llittle bossy, independent attitudes/tempers. They are learning so much in school....numbers, letters, colors, shapes, matching, patterns....it is AMAZING to watch them discover something new and the excitement in their eyes. Bennett just recently celebrated his first busted head injury (you can read more about that on his page). It is kinda sad, though, to know that they are growing up so quickly before our eyes, and they really aren't babies anymore.
We had a birthday party for Bennett and McKinley on Saturday at the Pea Ridge City Park with a few of their favorite friends. We had a cute little Dora and Diego cake made for them, but before I could even get it out of the car at the house, Bennett put his foot right in the middle of it and smashed it! It was was too late to get another on made, so we just had to make do with what we could salvage. Oh well, makes for a story if nothing else....LOL! Here is what it looked like:
It doesn't look THAT bad, we just couldn't get the figurines to stand up....LOL! We had a fun little jumpy thing that the kids played in for a while.....

Of course we opened presents, which was really just chaos and paper flying everywhere....
After presents, we finally got to that fabulous cake....it was so windy, we couldn't even get the candles to light, so we just pretended and sang "Happy Birthday"....
The rest of the time we ventured over to the playground and played around for a little while before heading back to the house.
I bet you the day was over....nope! Think again.....Once we got home, they played some more. Their BFF, Lakyn, came over, and Miss Gracyn came and played after her naptime.
So......that was ALL day Saturday.
Today, we had birthday supper and birthday cakes to make it all OFFICIAL!
All in all, I think we have had a great birthday!
